Toochukwu Chukwubudom “The masked artist”
Born in Lagos, Nigeria in the year 2000 but spent a chunk of his childhood in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state then a bit in Aba, Abia state with his secondary school situated in Calabar, Cross rivers state and tertiary institution in Omu, Ogun state, Toochukwu Chukwubudom AKA Mophead is a Lagos/Ogun based artist who’s art has one underlying theme regardless of medium, concept or technique: exploration. Drawing inspiration from his interaction with others, his environment and himself, he creates art pieces that are not only visually striking, but self-reflecting, with the hope that by striving to understand, love and be true to himself, he’d in turn inspire his viewers to do the same. Since he decided to actively pursue a career in visual arts in 2021, he’s partnered with a couple of NGO’s to conduct workshops with the sole aim of encouraging and inspiring creativity in young children and has taken part in two exhibitions, one being the Eco bank photography and art exhibition in 2022 And the second, “Outset” an exhibition organized by The Holy art gallery London in April of 2023.
