When my brain hasn’t even begun to wrap it’s self around what’s going on
How do I begin to express myself
When that look on your face says you are hearing but not listening to me When your body language says
No matter what I say, you aren’t budging
You aren’t shifting ground to try to see things from my point of view
You’d still be right in your eyes and I eternally wrong
Yes, communication is the key
Yes, it’s the key to building great relationships
Yes, it’s the key to sustaining great relationships
Yes, without it, relationships fail
And we failed at it
for not trying to express myself in spite of the odds
for not trying to make you see
The things felt
Even though I couldn’t put a finger on them yet
Even though you might not have listened
