The Gathering

This work explores the concept of community and how interconnectedness relates to our lives as human beings. Inspired by the aesthetics of the architectural landscape in some parts of Nigeria, like the red roof Ibadan, from the colonial until contemporary times, the artist likens these architectures to the complex interconnections of people in complicated spaces, and exploring the use of layers of repetitive close knitted structures representing the issues associated with city planning and urbanization.
